Last Friday was my last day at AUB (Asia United Bank), a local bank here in the Philippines. I worked for the company's I.T. department for seven years as a system developer. It was my first job after college. I learned a great deal of valuable things especially from my amazing boss, Sir Wil Rodriguez, who has trusted and guided me all these years.
Leaving the company is probably the biggest decision I made this year. You just have to take some risks to make not just your own life but your family's life better. I will always be grateful to AUB for hiring a clueless fresh grad like me and giving me the opportunity to prove my worth.
As a parting gift from my AUB-I.T. family, I was given this huge black brick that had everyone's messages for me. They know how much of a huge Lego fan I am. It was really an awesome gesture and I will always be grateful to them for this cool gift. The scrumptious cookies are from my teammate, Reg Dominguez, who'll be taking over our team. Give them hell, Reg!
I never really thought I'd be leaving AUB this soon. Only time will tell if it's a good move or not. For now, I'll make the most out of this new chapter in my life.
One last thing. Nothing But Brick will be going on a short hiatus this month. I'll be taking the rest of the month off from blogging to adjustment to the new work environment that I'll be in starting tomorrow. I'll be publishing some of my backlogs soon. That's about two or three entries. After that, we'll be coming back with new posts on the new year. Thank you to everyone who has read and supported Nothing But Brick this past year. You guys are truly awesome!
